[This week on the Barge, an older, somewhat new face is lurking about, obsessively checking a fob watch chained to his pocket and walking awkwardly through the halls. Those who were here in October during the mirror Barge may recognize the man as a disguised Davy Jones, struggling to grow comfortable in his human skin. He still limps carefully, but seems to be enjoying his relative anonymity]

No. That kind of stubborn stupidity is hard to lose.

And Zane?

[Stubborn stupidity is right. He walked in front of a drawn bow. ]

My Warden is tenacious. Like those who came before him, he swears he can "help". He offered me his life.

[She's still a bit offended by that too. ]

His life is not worth anything to yeh. He's a fool too. But mostly a harmless one.

Harmless or not, he's under foot.

[And a little to quick to request her resurrection.]

I can keep him occupied for a time, if yeh'd like some peace.

Peace?

[The way she says it, it sounds almost like she laughed. A cracked, broken laugh. Not really an amused sound, more like a brief exposure of the state of her mind.]

You'd need to steal his item for that. [If Zane doesn't have it, he can see she's dead. ] It's too fleeting a thing to ask that of you.

[It's not on an equivalent level as stealing his heart back. She'll wait to call in that favor. ]

I'd do it. Say the word and I'd be there at his door. He-

[Jones pauses, and shifts behind him. Something has distracted him from his plots against Zane]

Captain?

....Bush. He's done it. He threatened t' do it and he's gone and done it.

I'll kill 'im for this.

What's he done now?

[With a snarl, Davy goes to turn on his camera...and hesitates. He's still in human garb, after all. Finally, he just twists the camera to put himself behind it and turn it on the offending party;

A cat.

A Maine Coon, to be exact, sitting rather neatly on the end of Davy's sea chest and staring at him with the judgmental stare only a cat can bring]

I told him. I told him I neither wanted nor needed a pet!

[Well that certainly is a cat. A big one too, though still clearly a domestic breed. ]

And you expected him to listen?

[Really, Jones, he's a Warden. Why are you even surprised? ]

[The cat remains unimpressed by the sputtering, enraged Davy. It licks a paw, watching both him and Sylvanas on the screen behind him]

I expected him not t'trust me with another living creature!

If you don't want it, give it back to him.

If he didn't listen to me about getting it, why would he take it back?

[Notice in no way did Davy say he didn't want it]

Your choices are limited, Captain. You can dump the cat at his feet, or you can keep it.

[Sorry, she's not going to volunteer to take the cat in. She already has a pet she's not mentally capable of properly caring for. ]

[He continues to glare at the cat, who stares back, silent and reserved]

What do I do with it? If I aim to...keep it.

Feed it. Clean up after it. Give in to it's demands for attention.

[Hey it's a cat. What did you expect her to say?]

[He scowls at it, making a swipe with his arms in the hopes of driving it off the seachest. The cat leans back, but otherwise doesn't bat an eye]

It'll get underfoot. An' it won't appreciate water.

I believe you're giving this argument to the wrong person.

[He pauses, accepting the truth of this statement]

...Aye. I'll be taking this up with my warden. He won't be getting away with this.
