For those wanting him, yeh'll have to seek my permission.

[And off he goes; not to the infirmary, but to his own room. Can't trust those doctors to fix him; can't trust anyone]

[ Despite his mild tone, Bruce doesn't really sound like he's suggesting. More like this is very subtle instruction. Davy hasn't exactly been trustworthy in the past, and he rather likes Bush. ]

You do realize that your first day here that you murdered a man, and have since made public threats of various nature. I'm not entirely inclined to trust you given the circumstances.

If I murdered my warden - again - I'd have to contend with the stink. It benefits me to keep him alive.

Cut him off from what? He'll not know the difference between my cabin or the infirmary.

What if the people who come talk to him, and pay attention to him, make a difference in whether or not he wakes up?

Find me proof of that and maybe I'll move him.

There is none. You should know that.

Then your claim is unsubstantiated and will be ignored.

He is my warden. I will do with him as I see fit until he is alive enough to make his own decisions.

No you wouldn't. He'd automatically revive. Wardens do not need requests made for their revivals.

Will you allow me to check on him in a few days, or will I need to get angry about it?

His condition will remain much the same whether you check on him or not.

I do not to be a captain in order to do what I feel is best concerning the welfare of my warden. Who else would claim authority over Captain Bush?

It's allowing to monitor his condition while he stays with you, or having your door ripped off it's hinges and him taken by force, Captain.
