2nd Wave

[It's a week now since Davy Jones joined up with the Barge and was immediately thrust into Zero, and now he's out and about. Not so much about as out, as he seems relegated to his sixth floor cabin in a perpetual moody sulk.

But that hardly means he's being quiet about it. From one end of the hall to the other, the sixth floor shakes and moans with the sounds of a fearsome organ being played, loudly and without heed to anyone who had the foolish notion of getting some peace and quiet in today. Even other floors can likely hear a distant but still ominous melody sounding off through the ship's bones.

At least the leaking water's been staved off, and seems to have been relegated back to only a murky puddle leaking outside Jones' door.

He's not the friendliest of neighbors.]

[Ten to twenty minutes later, Edward wheels one of Megamind's stereos to Davy's door, and presses play. Salt The Wound begins to play on the highest possible volume.

Hope you like screamer metal, Davy. Eddie sure doesn't, so he has earplugs in.]

[With a scream of organ keys, Davy storms away from his instrument and flings his door open, furious. He immediately starts to go for the stereo in an effort to tear it to pieces. ]

[Sorry, Davy. The moment Eddie hears his thumping approach, he activates an invisibility cloak and wheels the stereo a little ways down the hallway, turning it off, and standing completely still so Davy won't be able to spot him when he flings his door open.]

With a slight sploosh of water as gentle sea waves wash out into the hall, Davy stands in the middle of the hallway with a ridiculous, narrowed frown. He turns, first one way and then the other.

With no culprit in sight, he snarls, turns around, and limps back to his room. The door slams shut behind him]

[Eddie waits about five minutes before rolling back over, out of the way of the puddle surrounding the door, and pressing play. He remains invisible, this time.]

[Behind the door, Jones gives a howl of rage, slamming his claw down on his organ keys. He storms up again, limping the entire way back to his door and opens it up.

Well? Where's it coming from, then?]

[He does the same trick as before, wheeling the stereo away and turning it off.

And while Davy is standing at his door, he writes him a message.]

Are you feeling more receptive or less receptive?

More receptive to your noise and your disrespect?! Come out and show yourself!

[Taking out his ear plugs briefly.]

You can be more accommodating, or you can learn to enjoy this music. Your choice.

[Swearing up and down, Jones sneers and briefly contemplates ripping off the door of another's cabin to use as a weapon]

Well? What will it be?

Beanpoles do not give me ultimatums.

[So much hate for that insult.]

They do if you value your peace and quiet.

See if I don't strangle you as well before the week's out, lad.

Asphyxiation is unlikely to dissuade me, so how about a wager? Get your crustacean hand on me before the end of the month, and I'll leave you to your organ playing. Fail, as I fully expect you to, and you must cease playing when asked.

That is a fool's wager.

So little faith in your own abilities.

My organ is the only thing on this wretched Barge that gives me comfort. I will not bargain with it, not when I have yet to fully understand the rules of this ship and its crew!

[There's the slightest hint Davy may be reasonable.]

Obliging the reasonable requests of your fellows is encouraged conduct. Or -- a far more appealing option -- you could have the Admiral soundproof your cabin.

...And...how does one "soundproof" a cabin?

Magic. The Admiral fulfils most requests through use of it.

And he would do this.

He, who imprisoned me, would be concerned for soundproofing.

Not at all. He's apathetic, or he would have soundproofed your cabin earlier.

Tell him to soundproof it, then. He will not answer me.

If you do it quickly, I'll stop my playing for a time.

He will answer you, provided your message has a purpose beyond scowling at him. You may even get a conversation out of it.
